I have wide feet. My friends tell me they look a bit like "Flintstones feet." Not sure how I feel about that... Anyways though that means that usually I have one of two problems with shoes. Either they fit me width wise but leave my feet sliding forwards and backwards, or they fit me length wise and the sides of my feet are crushed. Yeah, not pleasant.

So, I decided to try a little experiment. What if I got shoes that fit me length wise, were made of leather, and I got a shoe stretcher? Well, the answer is I get a comfortable fit.

This stretcher works perfectly for my problem, namely width, it very effectively slid into my size 43 (that's European sizing folks) Ecco dress shoes and with a few turns started stretching them out. Now, since you only get one stretcher your shoes have to take turns. So be patient, and plan ahead. My shoes now fit me perfectly, no more 44's with sliding feet or 43's with crushed sides. And, I have to spend a lot less time "breaking in" my shoes.
