I have had this dryer for about three weeks . We use it for drying ski boots and gloves. The gentle heat setting is fast but perfectly safe for drying our high end ski boots and gloves. Some people are concerned about using heat on their boots with heat moldable liners and custom orthotics, but the heat is very mild (est 100 degs). On a recent week long ski trip, we used it every evening to dry all of our boots in our hotel room without any annoying noise- It's barely louder than a room fan

I also recommend buying the glove attachment for glove drying.

** Update - I have now had this dryer for two long seasons of skiing several days a week. Everything is still working great. I even travel with it; it's a bit bulky, but worth the hassle.
