The Superfeet website doesn't do a great job in explaining the different models (colors). I picked the black inserts b/c they are described as being made for dress shoes. I later spoke to a Superfeet product rep at a marathon expo who explained that the differences relate primarily to the height of the various models with black being the flatest (event with an arch) so that they fit best in a dress shoe. The orange, green and blue models raise the heel and arch higher off the sole the shoe that you are using so are better for running shoes and boots that allow for this through lacing. Anyway, the black model works well so far in replacing the older grey model that was wearing. My plantar fasciitis is definitely better since I started using these.

I bought my orange Superfeet for hiking and they make a huge difference, making my feet feel less tired after a long day's walk and offering good arch support that helps my posture. Before using these, I had never used orthotic insoles, but now I wouldn't hike without them. The orange Superfeet are, in my experience, much the same as the green except with thicker padding for the forefoot. Orange Superfeet have a high arch. Do not buy these if you have flat feet or the arches will dig into your feet, and these are made with very hard plastic. Superfeet have a whole range of options to match the style of your foot, and each different colour is a different shape.

You have to be very careful to get just the right fit with Superfeet. If at all possible I recommend going to a store and testing out the different sizes. The key is to buy Superfeet to fit your arch length, *not* your shoe size. I am a shoe size 9, so if I went by Superfeet sizing then I would need the "D" (7.5-9). Yet I have long arches so I actually use the "F" (11.5-13). I went to an outdoor store, tried all the different sizes and the salesperson helped me figure out that the larger Superfeet fit perfectly to my arch with no space between the sole and my foot. The smaller insoles left a small gap in my arch and would, over time, become quite uncomfortable. Superfeet are easy to trim with scissors (you simply cut them to match the regular insole of your shoes) so don't be afraid to buy a much larger size if that's what fits your arch.

It's also important to make sure your heels fit well - if the heel cup is too small for your heel, the hard plastic will dig into your feet and you won't be wearing them for long! Conversely if the heel is too big, there won't be the support you're looking for. When you stand on the Superfeet, your heel should fit snugly in the cup and you'll know when it looks and feels right.

Superfeet can be hugely beneficial but only if you take the time to research and get the right fit. Ordering these purely based on your shoe size may prove to be a painful mistake. I wouldn't order these online unless you are able to either try them in a store first, or you are able to order several sizes and then return the ones that don't work for you.

I was diagnosed with "hammer toes" about a year ago. Walking has been miserable, because they put pressure on a different part of the foot, especially the plantar region, causing even more pain with each step. Confined in the combined leather, rubber, and nylon contraptions we collectively call "shoes", our feet do not air out until the shoes are removed. As a result, our feet sweat, and in time, that sweat promotes bacterial growth, and this produces the characteristic odor of "smelly" feet. In order to get rid of the odor, either one gets rid of the bacteria, which is virtually impossible, or one eliminates the sweat, or chemically treats the sweat. Dr. Scholl's Odor-X uses a sweat absorbing layer to wick off excess moisture, and then beneath this layer is a thin layer of activated carbon which deodorizes the moisture. Activated charcoal is carbon. Carbon is a natural filter that absorbs all sorts of impurities. It continues working until all the carbon is inactivated. Thus, these odor-x inserts will continue to render your feet and shoes odorless until the carbon is depleted. Depending on how much one's feet sweat determines how long the inserts are effective. Generally, in my experience, the inserts have to be replaced perhaps 3-4 times a year. This not only prolongs the life of your shoes, it also promotes a healthier foot/skin, and of course odor is neutralized too.

The inserts come in pairs (this pack has 4 pairs), and each is trimmed with a scissors to fit inside the shoes. A maximum size of a mens' size 12 is possible with these inserts. The inserts are not very thick, thus, one hardly notices them. However, if your shoes are tight to begin with, the added thickness may cause an uncomfortable tight fit.

All of my shoes have these inserts. When I take off my shoes at a guest's house, I no longer worry about my "stinking" feet.

I have high arches, pronated ankles, and have been dealing with plantar fasciitis (heel/arch pain) on and off for about eight years now. I used to use the Dr. Scholl's gel arch supports, but these are so much better because the arch and heel support are made of hard plastic so they don't lose their support over time. Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Extra Support Insoles (Men's Size 8 to 14) 1-Pair Review

This is the newest version of Dr. Scholl's "Extra Support" insoles. The old ones were dark green, and did not have the gel - this new version has a massaging gel portion in the heel. That is the main difference.

I've been using these for around a year now (not the same pair, multiple pairs).

Pros
- Good heel cushion, and good "cupping" of the heel.
- Decent support. Easily better than many other insoles, especially those in a lower price bracket.

Cons
- Not enough forefoot cushion! The forefoot will wear out LONG before the heel does. Why don't they put a gel forefoot as well? This insole would be fantastic!
- Price, especially when compared to how long the insole will last you.

Overall, it's not a bad insole. You could do MUCH worse. However, the cushioning in the forefoot is a huge complaint. These are designed for "bigger men"... so why ignore the forefoot by only offering the signature gel cushioning in the heel? Give us the full treatment for our money!

Take a look at what Sof Sole has to offer. The Sof Sole Athlete Insole is a better choice, you can actually see that there's a gel cushion especially for the forefoot. I liked these better, and they're not too much more expensive than these Dr. Scholl's. I have found that Sof Sole makes an insert called "Airr" (with two "R's") which don't seem to be available on Amazon. They're more expensive, but the forefoot gel is even larger than on the "Athlete" and they are the best I've tried so far.

Just be careful when you choose these insoles, experimenting can get expensive very quickly.

Fiebings Leather Dye Black 4oz Review

Used this to dye some Coach leather goods that I own and I just wanted to make a couple of meaningful points.

A little goes a long way, andf this small bottle will dye a ton of leather things. So, if you are on the fence about getting one or two bottles, get one.

It runs a tad darker than you'd think. So, medium brown, like I got, is very brown. Hard to explain, but I'm just letting you know if you are on the fence about going lighter or darker, go lighter.

Like the other reviewer said, this stuff is very hard to get out. Once it dries on the leather, it dries firmly and does not rub off. You could buy the leather cleaner tp prep the leather befor applying this product, but I did what many online sites mention and used baby wipes, pre-moistened and unscented. They work wonders on all leather and it's a good tip to use them. Then, once dry, apply this dye.

The dobber they give you with this small bottle is very excellent for small areas (less than a few inches across) or for piping.edging. For larger surfaces, you;ll want to buy a few cheap disposable foam paint brushes.

Don't for a second get this on your hands (it takes a week to come off totally), on the floor, or even in your sink My stainless steel sink got some from my washing up, and it;s still there a month later. No amount of ammonia and scrubbing seems to take it off, but some Soft Scrub and elbow grease has it improved. And it stains instantly, so best to do this outdoors.

I also use Leather Honey for general mosturizing and care, and I've written a review of that product, it;s colorless, odorless, and is slightly oily, it is like clear honey when you put it on, and I like it, too, very much.
