Just a great bag! The photos don't do the color justice. I took a chance because I was looking for something that would go with anything I might wear in fall and winter. The color is like a deep mahogany, a brown with a hint of burgundy. It easily blends with browns, stands out nicely against blacks, is comfortable with any range of neutrals.
The leather is supple, with a nice texture, very squishable yet thick enough to be sturdy. The little brass studs are slightly patinaed and just enough of an accent.
I was worried it would be too large for me, as I'm small, and some bags overwhelm. But no, it's just perfect, and the drop is nice, making it easy to carry and easy to access. Because it has such a graceful shape (not so apparent in the photo) and a nice drape, it would look great on many different body shapes.
The one caution I will mention is that there is only one shallow pocket inside, just big enough for a cell phone or car keys. They provide a removeable zip pouch made of the same leather, but other than that it's just a big open bag with a magnetic closure on top. I don't mind because I organize with varous pouches, but if you rely on compartments this isn't your bag.
