I am giving this product 4 stars because I have owned one of the bags before and knew what to expect. It is not a sturdy bag...at all. Not meant to be used over a long period of time, or hold a lot of heavy things. After owning a bag exactly like it, only after two years it began loosing it's stitching and the zipper fell off of one side. But for the price, it lasted longer than I would have expected. This is what brought me back to purchase another, I love the pattern and it's fun for a change every once in awhile.
It is big enough to handle a few textbooks and has additional pocket space for other things. But it will not last long as a school bag.
The fabric is not thick, and a strong person could rip it, feels similar to cotton products by touch.
The star rating is based on the price vs the usage of the bag. I think it's a pretty good deal, and do not use the bag on a daily basis all year, it's just something fun and different.
